When you left

When you left last night
You didn’t leave fully
You left so much behind

Like your smile on my lips
A strand of your hair on my neck
Your handkerchief in my closet
and a crumpled bedsheet (I don’t want to set it right)

When you left last night
You didn’t leave fully
You left so much behind

Like that unfinished cup of black coffee
Your thoughts lingering like a flowing gown
Your smell all over my palms and down
and my undying love for you!

When you left last night
You also took along, so much with you

Like the planned dance night with friends
An evening stroll in the park
The promise of togetherness in light and dark
and my right over you, for a lifetime!

When you left last night
I flipped through the pages of my diary
To see how many times had I repeated myself
And how, all the pages were only about you
I don’t know where from, but
Last night, I gathered the courage to shred it!
